What type of organizations can assist me in buying a first time home with a low?
credit score? I see some people with houses that I think are in worst shape than me and I wonder how they do it?
Go ahead and speak with a Realtor in the area you want to live in. Be honest and upfront about your situation. They will be able to assist you with advise and may be able to arrange owner financing or a lease- purchase, where you lease for a period of time, and culminate the purchase at the end of the set time. This can give you a chance to clean up your act and build your credit while you are in your home. Be aware though that when you, as a buyer are asking for seller concessions like owner financing or lease-purchase, that you generally will not have as much negotiating power where the price is concerned. So be carefull and don’t get in over your head. The last thing you want is to get involved in a deal where you are struggling and that just makes everything worse.
