How would an auto loan work if you wish to be funded through your bank and not the car dealership?
Would I have to get bank first then pay dealer?
That is correct. You apply for a loan first and when the loan is approved, the money is deposited into your bank account. You can then write a check for the full amount of car dealership, and you only make payments to your bank. This is a much better route because you have a chance to shop for better interest rates.
